Group endorses Okowa for 2nd term

A socio-political pressure group, Movement for Democratic Equity, MDE, has endorsed Governor Ifeanyi Okowa Of Delta State for a second term after a consideration of his two years performance in the areas of Human Development, Infrastructural Development, Economic Policies, among others.

The group said it arrived at the conclusion after administration of questionnaires, interviews and cluster discussions amongst selected sample study and passed a vote of confidence in him.

The group made its position known to newsmen in Warri on Saturday through the National Coordinator, Evang. Josiah Mashomi after a meeting with Zonal and Local Government Coordinators of the group to appraise and review the activities of the group for the past six years.

The cleric stated that Okowa has put his critics in absolute shame considering his monumental discharge of the dividends of democracy spread across the state.

Mashomi averred that the second term of Okowa is sacrosanct owing to his SMART agenda that he has fulfilled by imparting positively on lives of the masses with projects and programmes affecting the people directly.

He therefore, called on the people to reciprocate this gesture and magnanimity by supporting his enmass come 2019 as to whom much is given, much is expected and when music is sweet or melodious it is repeated.

Mashomi however advised all and sundry to join hands with Okowa to move the state forward and jettison the politics of tribal and party sentiments, and work out modalities in fashioning a unified affirmative action that reconciles and redirects our quest for one Delta.

He kicked against the politics of disunity for self-aggrandizement. as he charged the group to remain focused, steadfast and undeterred in the face of provocation towards the actualization of the task ahead and the objectives of the group.
